Common questions
Before contacting support
Does Fewer Photos delete photographs automatically?
No. A Delete decision only places the photograph into the Fewer Photos deletion queue. You must review that queue and explicitly confirm before the app requests any change from Apple Photos.
Can I restore a photograph from the deletion queue?
Yes. Photographs can be removed from the queue before you confirm deletion.
Why does Fewer Photos need photo-library access?
Photo-library access is required to display photographs, organise them by month, update favourites and submit photographs you explicitly select for deletion.
Can I change a review decision?
Yes. Use Undo to reverse the most recent Keep or Delete decision. You can also leave a review and continue later without losing progress.
What counts as a reviewed photograph?
Both Keep and Delete decisions count as reviews. Favouriting a photograph does not complete its review by itself.
Can I change the swipe controls?
Yes. Settings includes Vertical Review and Classic Swipe. Vertical Review uses down to Keep and up to Delete. Classic Swipe uses right to Keep and left to Delete.
Why did a completed month show more photographs later?
A month can gain new photographs when images are imported, downloaded, restored or synchronised into Apple Photos. Fewer Photos will show those new items as remaining work.
How do location stamps work?
Some photographs contain geographic coordinates. After enough reviewed photographs are associated with one town, Fewer Photos may offer a postmark. You must confirm that the location represents your own time there before the stamp is added.
What happens when I choose Not Mine on a location stamp?
Those photographs are excluded from location-stamp progress. Their Keep or Delete decisions remain unchanged, and unrelated photographs can still qualify for future postmarks.
Does Fewer Photos require an account?
No. Review progress and Stamp Book data are stored with the application on your device.

When reporting a problem, include:
- Your iPhone model
- Your iOS version
- The Fewer Photos version shown in Settings
- The review style you were using
- The month being reviewed
- A description of what happened
Do not send private photographs, precise location coordinates or screenshots containing sensitive personal information.
Apple Photos controls final deletion
Fewer Photos prepares the request. Apple asks for confirmation.
Photo-library permissions, final deletion approval and any recovery options after deletion are managed by iOS and Apple Photos.
